Today, Shaun and I ran in our first 5K! While we weren't as trained up as we had originally hoped we'd be when we first signed up for the 5k, we still had a good time! Since we got to the park so early, we had time to walk around Ester Shore Park and explore the Farmer's market that was happening near by.

| Got our numbers on and we're ready to go. Too bad the race doesn't start for another hour. Better to be too early than too late! |

And we're off! Before the race started, Shaun and I saw an older lady walking around with a cane and a race number on her shirt. We jokingly said, well at least we won't be last. We started the race off pretty strong, running about a mile. After that, we alternated walking and running. About half way through the race, a lady passes us, and it just happens to be the older lady with the cane! She was just power walking and trucking along pretty good. After that point, we decided that it was our goal to at least finish before her. So when we were walking and noticing that she was catching up, it was our inspiration to run more. The tale of the tortoise and the hare really is true! Slow and steady wins the race! We finished the race in 42:25. Better than I thought we'd do!

It was a beautiful day for a race, and we had fun! We can't wait to run in another one. Next time, our goal is to run the whole way!
Good Job Shaun & Steph!
